Jeff and I had the pleasure of visiting Minnesota this past weekend, a place that is very dear to us. The reason for our visit was a much anticipated wedding.
Paul has been a great friend of Jeff’s since college. They both (along with two other friends) joined a music ministry in 2005 called CTI Music Ministries (located in Minnesota). They were part of the full-time program, which toured domestically and internationally for a year, sharing the love of Christ through the gift of music. I joined a summer team the following summer for a short trip to Mexico and had the privilege of getting to know this ministry and all the wonderful people involved. That is why this place is so special for us, because we love CTI, and we left very many wonderful people in Minnesota.
It was during that summer I was there that this beautiful, charming, Minnesotan girl named Brooke joined a team that was traveling to Singapore. It just happened that Paul was also assigned to that team. It was told at the wedding reception on Friday night that shortly after meeting Brooke, Paul told his brother-in-law that he would not be surprised if Brooke was the girl he was to marry.
Fast forward a bit over three years, and there we all were standing on a Friday night in Minnesota, celebrating this beautiful love story. It has been a long journey to get here, but they are here. And the church and reception were full of people so excited to celebrate them on that day.
The ceremony was beautiful, the music amazing (how could it not be?) and Paul and Brooke were just as adorable and in love as you would hope a bride and groom to be. It was truly a type of wedding that just warms your heart and leaves you speechless.
The reception immediately following was a wonderful time – truly a party to celebrate Paul and Brooke. Brooke even pulled a surprise on Paul, singing “L-O-V-E” by Nat King Cole to him at the reception with her bridesmaids as her backup singers. I would definitely say that yes, love was made for Brooke and Paul.
Mr. and Mrs. Vasilko, we love you both and will continue to pray for a lifetime of blessings, love and laughter for you. We are so excited for the two of you and this new chapter in your life!
Ashley, these are beautiful. My favorites are of Brooke with that gorgeous smile…way to capture the beauty and joy of that day! and the last one of the back of her dress…stunning!
