Abbott Wedding: The First Look | Nashville Portrait Photography

Who’s ready for some more photos?! Roger and Mary were married on a beautiful, Spring day. They held the ceremony at Mary’s home church in Jerseyville, Illinois, so we were close enough to head on over to the gorgeous Lewis and Clark College campus to take their photos. The campus had the right amount of charm and drama any photographer could ask for.

Roger and Mary chose to do a First Look, which we are big fans of. It was such an honor to sit back in the shadows and capture the two of them having those few intimate, special moments together. Jeff was the one that had the camera on Roger, so it wasn’t until we were going through photos after the wedding that I saw Roger’s first glance at Mary captured on camera. Talk about making your heart melt! Every girl wants to make a guy’s jaw drop, especially on her wedding day, and I am so thrilled that Jeff caught that on camera. Girlfriend, you are just as gorgeous as Roger’s expression shows, both inside and out! And I just wish that when people look at the photos of you laughing, that they could hear it, too. You are such the epitome of joy!

The Abbott Wedding: Getting Ready | Nashville Portrait Photography

Happy New Year! Pardon our absence, as we’ve been settling into a new home and now prepping for “baby makes 3″ in the Spring! So how about we start off this year with a bang! Here’s the first in a series of blogs from our dear friend’s wedding in 2011.

Miss Mary, you were an absolutely stunning bride! It was such an honor to be a part of such a beautiful day and I had so much fun going through these photos again. We couldn’t be more excited for you and Roger!

Goins, Writer | Nashville Portrait Photography

Have you heard of Jeff Goins? If not, check out his writing blog. He is kind of a big deal. He wrote an ebook a few weeks back, and had endorsements by some names you might recognize. I may or may not have a crush on him… well he is my husband!

This post is long overdue (the house, the move and vacation got in the way), one of many that I owe you. But I chose this one first, because the timing is perfect. If you have not seen Jeff’s guest post on Stuff Christians Like, you must take just a couple minutes to read it and the comments. I promise it will make you laugh and brighton up your Monday blues.

To say I am proud of this man is an understatement. He has encouraged me in my dream of Portray Photo, stands in as my assistant and even, at times, a second shooter. I am beyond thrilled to return the favor. Besides, he really is a good writer, so it is easy to do!

The Davis Family | Nashville Family Photography

Sorry for the delay everyone! I got sidetracked with a little thing known as our soon-to-be first house. But never fear, we are back with much to share!

First up is a family photo session we did back in the fall. This was the biggest family I had photographed to date, and it was a blast. The kids were dolls, the parents wonderful and the pooches regal.

This was the kind of shoot that produced timeless photos that I think belong in big, old-timey frames. I loved the location they picked and how well it suited them. Just take a look at this first photo.

It could be “American Gothic” 2010.

Mr. and Mrs. Cooney! | Nashville Portrait Photography

Well, it has been long enough. It is about time we get the rest of the photos from my brother’s wedding up on this blog! Our photography responsibilities ended at the start of the wedding, and during the wedding we became part of the talent (guitarist and singer that is). However, after we performed our songs, I snuck to the back of the ceremony (I would have loved to have counted how many rows of chairs there were!) to get some wide angle shots, to make sure Ahron and Kathy had it documented just how many people loved and cared for them and wanted to celebrate them. Plus, what a gorgeous location it was, especially when you took it all in from afar.

So here is Part 3 of the wedding. And in case you missed it, Part 1 was the fellas getting ready, and Part 2 was Ahron and Kathy’s first look.
